The
CMSP Governing Board has seven goals that guide program policy and development:
- CMSP members will receive medically necessary services in a manner that promotes delivery of the right care at the right time by the right health care provider.
- CMSP will seek the provision of culturally and linguistically competent services by health care providers.
- Care management and coordination, including case management services where appropriate, will be provided to assist CMSP members in managing their personal health conditions and related circumstances.
- CMSP policies and program strategies will take into consideration the role CMSP plays in supporting the health care infrastructures of participating counties.
- Timely and useful data will be effectively utilized to inform CMSP policy development and program management.
- Procedures and systems will be implemented to assure that CMSP members who are eligible for Medi-Cal or other public or private programs are appropriately linked with these programs in order to promote CMSP's role as a secondary payer after other available programs.
- CMSP will strive to keep officials of CMSP counties, including the County Administrator and county directors of health, social services, mental health, and alcohol and drug programs, actively engaged with CMSP to continuously identify and develop cost-effective strategies to strengthen CMSP.
